Air Afrique - Backpack

$90.31 NZD

Air Afrique was a Pan-African airline founded in 1960 as a joint venture between Air France and Union Aéromaritime de Transport to serve West and Central Africa, particularly francophone countries that lacked the capacity to establish their own national airlines. Headquartered in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Air Afrique became a key regional carrier with an extensive network across Africa, Europe, and North America. Despite being a top African airline in its prime, mismanagement, corruption, and the impact of the post-9/11 aviation downturn led to its decline. Air Afrique was liquidated in 2002, and plans to revive it never materialized.
