Expreso Aereo Interamericano - Cuba - Hoodie

£31.75

Expreso Aereo Interamericano was a private Cuban airline formed on 4 August 1942. The first service was all-cargo on the Havana to Miami, FL route, opened on 28 August 1943. Service to the Isle of Pines followed in May 1944. A passenger network of domestic routes, and a passenger service to Miami, FL followed, but cargo operations with the Commando was the mainstay. By late 1948, the airline ran into financial difficulties and suspended operations. After a reorganization, operations resumed in 1951.

In May 1959 the revolutionary government decided to nationalise Cubana. The private private cargo carriers including Expreso Aéreo Interamericano were then merged into Cubana. The private passenger airline Aerovías Q and private cargo carriers Cuba Aeropostal and Expreso Aéreo Interamericano, were then merged into Cubana, which was rebranded as Empresa Consolidada Cubana de Aviación.
